Pune: Local bigwigs from Vadgaon Sheri, Hadapsar and Khadakwasla join NCP (SP), big blow to Maha Yuti
Pune: A few days ahead of the voting in the State Assembly elections, the NCP (SP) led by Sharad Pawar has dealt a blow to the Maha Yuti in the city. Local leaders and corporators from the BJP and the NCP (AP) in Vadgaon Sheri, Hadapsar and Khadakwasla joined the NCP (SP).
Former corporator Rekha Tingre and her husband Chandrakant Tingre, Dilip Tupe and Anil Tupe from Hadapsar and Samir Dhankawade from Khadakwasla joined the NCP (SP) in the presence of Sharad Pawar on Thursday (November 14).
According to the details received, many BJP leaders entered the NCP (SP) in the presence of Sharad Pawar. Former Standing Committee Chairman Dilip Aba Tupe, Sanmitra Sahakari Bank former Chairman Anil Tupe, Samir Dhankawade, Rakha and Chandrakant Tingre, along with many office-bearers and workers, were welcomed into the NCP (SP) fold.
They promised Sharad Pawar that they would make a valuable contribution to the victory of the candidate in their respective constituency.
The exodus is seen as a big jolt to the NCP (AP) and the BJP in the city.
Moreover, NCP (AP) leader from Shrivardhan taluka of Raigad district Rambhau Bhokare also entered the NCP (SP).
Rekha and Chandrakant Tingre’s entry into the NCP (SP) is likely to impact the NCP (AP) candidate Sunil Tingre, who is already in trouble. Now, he will have to go on the backfoot. Rekha Tingre is an important leader in Vadgaon Sheri, where the BJP has suffered a big blow.
