Pune: Lonavala decked up to welcome New Year, police tighten security
Lonavala: Thousands of tourists have arrived in Lonavala to say goodbye to 2024 and welcome 2025. The Lonavala Police will watch for hooligans and trouble makers. Strict action will be taken against those who get drunk and disturb others on roads. PI Kishor Dhumal attached with the Lonavala Rural Police Station issued the warning.
Thousands of tourists flock from Pune-Mumbai and other cities to Lonavala. The police will be particularly watchful at Lonavala City, Tiger Point, Lion’s Point and Pavana Dam to curb untoward incidents. Tourists should celebrate December 31 with joy and enthusiasm. They should not cause chaos on roads and disturb others, warned Kishor Dhumal.
The police have given priority to women’s security like every year. Police teams will be deployed at various places to curb eve-teasing. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in such behaviour. DJ music is played at many places. But they have been told to play it within the permitted hours. Violators will face action.
