Pune:
After the Anti-Terrorist Squad detained a Bangladeshi couple from Alandi for illegally residing in India, Loni Kalbhor police have arrested a homoeopathy doctor from Theur on the suspicion of his Bangladeshi identity. Police informed that the doctor had stayed in various parts of the country, and since the past 25 years, he has been working as a homoeopathy doctor in Theur, Pune.
The detained Bangladeshi doctor has been identified as Harulal Panchanan Bishwas (age 53), a resident of Kakade Building, Theur, Taluka Haveli, District Pune. Assistant Police Inspector Amol Pawar has filed a complaint at Loni Kalbhor Police Station in this regard.
As per the police information, Harulal Bishwas was born in Bangladesh. However, after Bangladesh got separated from Pakistan in 1971, he, along with his parents, migrated to India. His parents lived in various parts of the country, working as labourers. He informed the police that he has completed his medical education in Mumbai, and for the last 25 years, he has been working as a doctor in Theur.
After police got the information about Bishwas’ Bangladeshi identity, police arrested him and started his official enquiry. After that, Bishwas informed the police that he was born in Bangladesh and later came to India with his parents. Surprisingly, despite being a Bangladeshi citizen, police found that he had made fake documents like a birth certificate, Aadhar card, PAN card, passport, ration card, Election Commission card, etc.
After that, Loni Kalbhor police detained him, and Police Sub-Inspector Amol Ghodke is investigating further in this case.
