Pune: Love Birds Cafe owner booked for obscene activities
Pune / Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch acted against Love Birds Café in Ravet on Monday (July 8). It was found during the action that young boys and girls were provided privacy by making partitions using curtains to indulge in obscene activities.
The owner of the café has been booked. Police constable Sangita Jadhav (37) of anti-human trafficking unit (AHTU) lodged a complaint in this regard.
Café manager Dhiraj Prakash Mohite (22), a resident of Wakad, and its owner Bhagyashree Laxman Dhakne (34), a resident of Beed district, have been booked under the Maharashtra Police Act.
The AHTU of the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch got a tip-off that private space is provided to boys and girls at Love Birds Café at shop no. 6 in Pavani Pride on DY Patil Road in Ravet. These boys and girls indulge in obscene activities. The input was verified.
The police investigation found that the café did not have any permission to run a shop. The accused displayed the board of the café in the public space and were selling food. The police found five cubicles of 3X3 size and five feet height on the first floor of the café. The cubicles were covered with curtains and a sofa each provided inside. It was found that boys and girls were provided the space in obscene behaviour. The manager and owner have been booked and the police are investigating further.
