Pune: Maharashtra will walk in the footsteps of warkaris: Devendra Fadnavis
Pune / Alandi: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited temple town Alandi on Friday (December 3) and sought blessings at the Sant Shrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Samadhi Mandir.
After his visit, he said, “Maharashtra has followed the path shown by the Warkari Sampraday (sect). The State will walk on the same path in the future also. I came here to remind myself of our commitment to the path and sought blessings of Dnyaneshwar Mauli.”
Fadnavis was welcomed in Alandi amidst the beats of Taal-Mrudung. He himself played the Taal and chanted the pious name of ‘Dnyaneshwar Mauli’. He was accompanied by party leaders Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, State Legislative Council Chairman Ram Shinde, State Minister Pankaja Munde, MLC Amit Gorkhe and MLA Shankar Jagtap.
Fadnavis said, “We had a big victory with the blessings of Pandurang. Now, I am here to seek blessings of Mauli. It is a moment of happiness. I experienced it.
“The Warkari Sampraday has always inspired the State. It will inspire in the future too. I came here today to remind myself of our commitment to the thoughts of Dnyaneshwar Mauli. Cleaning of the Indrayani river will continue. It will take a long time. Sewage of the town, the city and untreated effluents from industries go into the river. It has to be treated before its release. Work has started on it. We are providing funds to villages and civic bodies for the purpose. The work will be taken up on a war footing.”
