Pune : Major Tree Falls on PMPML Bus Due to Contractor’s Negligence in Chinchwad-Akurdi Area; 5 to 7 Passengers Seriously Injured
Pune : A major accident occurred in Pimpri-Chinchwad due to the negligence of contractors working on cable installation along the roadside. On Wednesday morning, a huge tree collapsed onto a PMPML passenger bus traveling from Shewalwadi to Nigdi on the Chinchwad to Akurdi road.
It has been reported that while contractors were digging near the roadside to lay cables, they removed excessive soil around the tree roots, which weakened the tree. As a result, the large tree collapsed onto the moving PMPML bus.
Around 5 to 7 passengers were seriously injured in the incident, though thankfully, there were no fatalities. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade was called to the spot to remove the fallen tree. The incident has caused panic among the public, and citizens have expressed anger over the carelessness of the contractors involved.
