Pune: Man Killed in Argument Over Verbal Abuse in Maan; Four Booked by Hinjewadi Police
Pune:
In a tragic escalation of a verbal dispute, a man was beaten to death by four individuals following an argument involving alcohol and abuse. The incident, which occurred in Wakad, led the Hinjewadi police to file a complaint against the accused five days later.
The names of the accused individuals who have been booked in this case are Hari Ganpat Waghmode (age 33, a resident of Gujar Nagar, Thergaon), Avinash Ramesh Gavhale (age 28, a resident of Laxman Nagar, Thergaon), Vipul Suresh Kumbhar (age 27, a resident of Laxman Nagar, Thergaon), and Sandeep Kantilal Shedge (a resident of Sadguru Colony, Wakad). The deceased individual has been identified as Satish Arjun Dedge (age 31, a resident of Salunkhe Vasti, Maan, Taluka Mulshi).
According to police reports, Dedge had been living in a rental room in Maan, which he was set to vacate soon. As part of finding new tenants, the landlord reached out to Bapu Hegde, a known acquaintance, who showed interest in the room and asked his four friends to inspect it.
Upon arrival, the landlord directed the four men to view the room. Shockingly, when the four people went to see the room, they found Dedge in an intoxicated state, who allegedly began hurling abuse at them. When they asked him to refrain from abusing, Dedge reportedly became aggressive and attempted to attack them. The situation escalated, and the visitors retaliated, striking him repeatedly.
In a fit of rage, one of the men allegedly picked up a wooden stick nearby and delivered a forceful blow to Dedge’s head, rendering him unconscious. The four individuals then left the scene. Shortly afterward, Dedge was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
Initially, the Hinjewadi police registered the case as a sudden death, but Assistant Police Inspector Somnath Panchal informed that following further investigation, the complaint was registered against the four accused under the murder case.
