Pune: Maratha quota leader Manoj Jarange Patil insists on contesting state polls, rally in Pune on August 11
Pimpri: Maratha quota leader Manoj Jarange Patil has said that he and his colleagues are fully prepared for the State Assembly elections. He said that he needed to discuss with community members if they wanted to defeat candidates or to field their own.
A final decision would be made on August 29, said Jarange Patil. He was speaking to the media here on Friday (August 2). He said, “Some people are trying to trap me over the staging of shows of ‘Shambhuraje’ (a Marathi play). Rallies will be held in each district from August 7 to 13.”
A rally will be staged in Pune on August 11. He appealed to community members from Pune to participate in a large number. He said, “MLA Bachhu Kadu’s demand and my demand is the same. Farmers are deprived of reservations. We are preparing for the assembly elections. I still have to ask my community members whether we should defeat candidates or field our own. We are prepared for using both strategies. We will decide on this on August 29. We have conducted a survey for all 288 seats.”
