Pune: Market Yard Police Booked Young Man from Katraj Under POCSO for Keeping Physical Relations with Minor Girl and Syphoning Her Mother’s Jewellery

Pune: A shocking incident has come to light in Pune, where a 21-year-old man kept physical relations with the minor girl and also cheated her by refusing to return her mother’s jewellery. In this regard, the 15-year-old minor girl lodged a complaint at Market Yard Police Station.

Police registered a case against the accused, Harsh Mahendra Mahadik, age 21, a resident of Gokul Nagar, Katraj, under the POCSO Act. As per the police complaint, this incident took place in the hotels of Salisbury Park, Market Yard, and Kalyani Nagar between December 11, 2022, and July 10, 2024.

According to the police information, the plaintiff and the accused were in a love relationship. Both had done various parties in hotels in which Harsh kept physical relations with the minor girl despite knowing that she was underage. After that, Harsh cheated the girl, saying there was a huge loan on him, and to pay back his loan, Harsh demanded some money from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff then secretly gave her mother’s jewellery, worth Rs 20 lakh, 66 thousand, 820, to Harsh Mahadik between December 2022 and July 2024. A few days back, when the plaintiff’s mother noticed that her jewellery was missing from home, she confronted the plaintiff about it. At that time, the plaintiff told her mother the entire incident.

When the plaintiff demanded her mother’s jewellery from the accused, shockingly, the accused bit the plaintiff’s finger and assaulted her. After that, the plaintiff lodged a complaint against the accused at the police station. Assistant Police Inspector Patil is investigating the case.
