Pune: Market Yard Police Crack Down on Drug Trade, Seize Mephedrone Worth Rs 1.09 Lakh from Repeat Offender

Pune :
With each passing day, various criminals are entering into the smuggling of drug trafficking. However, in a significant action, the Market Yard police recently seized a Mephedrone (MD) drug worth Rs 109,000 from an on-record criminal.
The name of the accused in this case is Aatik Karim Bagwan (a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Market Yard).
Recently, the Police Amaldar Kiran Jadhav of the Market Yard police station was checking the criminals. At that time, he got information that Aatik Karim Bagwan was standing next to the shed at Bailbazar. Accordingly, a police team along with Kiran Jadhav reached there.
Interestingly, as soon as the accused saw the police, he started running away from there. However, his fleeing attempt remained limited for some time, as he was then immediately arrested by the police after a short chase. The Assistant Police Inspector Chetan More interrogated him about the reason behind his running. However, the accused gave vague answers to them.
Unsatisfied with his answers, the police team frisked the accused. At that time, they found 6 grams of MD drug worth Rs 109,000 in his possession. The police seized it and registered a case against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Market Yard police station.
This action was taken by the team of Senior Police Inspector Manisha Patil, Police Sub-Inspector Sawan Aware, Assistant Police Inspector Chetan More, Police Sub-Inspector Bhapkar, Police Amaldar Jadhav, Zayte, and Yadav under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhanyakumar Godse.
