Pune: Minister Chandrakant Patil Visits Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati; Ask Bappa for Betterment of People (Videos)
Pune: Maharashtra’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Chandrakant Patil, paid a visit to India’s first public Ganpati, the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Public Trust, during the ongoing Ganeshotsav festivities. At this time, he was warmly welcomed and felicitated by Punit Balan, the chief of the festival and trustee of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust.
Responding to criticism from Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) leader Sushma Andhare, Patil remarked, “Those who are criticising have not been prevented by anyone from contributing to the public Ganeshotsav. There is no order that only Punit Balan can help in the festival.”
When asked about what he asked to Lord Ganesh, Patil shared his thoughts on employment and societal well-being. He said, “The common man does not want to rely on anyone’s charity. I prayed for people to find employment so they can support their families and meet responsibilities like marrying off their daughters.”
He further advocated for flexible work opportunities for women. “Due to family duties, many women can’t work full-time. There should be provisions for four-hour jobs for them,” Patil suggested. Additionally, he expressed hopes for better educational opportunities abroad for our students and prosperity for farmers, asking Lord Ganesh for good rainfall, abundant crops, and fair prices.
