Pune MLAs lobbying for a berth in State Cabinet

Mumbai: There was a tug of war between the Shiv Sena (BT) and the BJP to have the Chief Minister’s post. However, the issue has been settled after caretaker CM Eknath Shinde clarified that he would accept the leader named by the BJP leadership.
Apparently, the way has been cleared for a BJP Chief Minister. Now, discussions have shifted to who gets what portfolio. MLAs from Pune have started lobbying with senior leaders to win a berth in the State Cabinet.
MLAs such as Madhuri Misal, Sunil Kamble, Rahul Kul are camping in Mumbai. This has raised people’s curiosity about who would get a ministerial berth.
Particularly, fourth-term MLA Madhuri Misal is hopeful of getting a ministership. MLA Sunil Kamble is of the view that his Scheduled Caste tag would win him a seat in the ministry. MLA Rahul Kul has also stayed put in Mumbai.
Moreover, other names being discussed for a berth included Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge, Khadakwasla MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, NCP (AP) MLA Dattatraya Bharne and Shiv Sena (BT) MLA Vijay Shivtare.
Elections to 12 municipal corporations and 25 zilla parishads are on the cards in the State. These polls are likely to be held in a few months in the backdrop of a good show by the Maha Yuti in the State elections. It is said that impending elections will be considered while appointing ministers.
