Pune :

A shocking case has come to light in which a young woman model from Pune, who has so far participated in 6 different Miss India and Miss Universal competitions, was duped of Rs 10 lakh by three men after being told that she had been selected for the Miss Intercontinental competition 2024.

In this regard, a 21-year-old girl has filed a complaint at Sahakar Nagar police station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Malik Isani (a resident of Gujarat), Govind Kumar Agarwal (a resident of Haryana), and Gaurav Jaitley (a resident of Haryana). This incident took place between October 1 and November 20, 2024.

Police informed that the plaintiff has participated in many beauty pageants before. A few days ago, she was introduced to Malik Isani through a common friend. At that time, Isani told her that her profile had been selected for Miss Intercontinental 2024, and he sent a link regarding it to her. The plaintiff then filled out the form and met Malik Isani in Jaipur.

In that meeting, Isani told the plaintiff that this international pageant would be held in Egypt. For that, he said that she would have to pay for the flight tickets, competition clothes, and accommodation expenses in advance. For this, Isani asked her to pay Rs 10 lakh in advance.

Believing in him, the complainant sent him the money. After that, Isani changed the dates of the contests in India. After being selected from India, the pageant was to be held in Egypt between November 21 and December 6.

When the complainant became suspicious of Isani’s behaviour and enquired about the competition by herself, the original organisers of the competition in America told her that the tickets sent to her by Isani for this pageant were fake. When she realised that she had been cheated, she demanded her money back from Malik Isani and other accused.

However, when she did not get her money back, the young woman finally filed a complaint of fraud against all the accused at the Sahakar Nagar police station. Police Sub-Inspector Kalpana Kale is investigating the case further.
