Pune: Nine Days After Armed Heist at Jewellers Shop in Mundhwa, Police Release Robbers’ Sketches

On December 8, the incident of robbery took place at Arihant Jewellers on BT Kawade Road in Mundhwa at 9:30 p.m., in which two robbers stole the jewellery from the shop at gunpoint. Now, after nine days of the incident, the police have released sketches of these two thieves.

As per the police information, Walchand Aachaldas Oswal (age 77) was sitting in the shop writing the day’s account when two thieves suddenly entered the shop on December 8. Strangely, they pulled down half the shutters of the shop, and one of them brandished a pistol and sprayed some kind of spray on Oswal’s face. Meanwhile, the other accused started to steal gold ornaments from the shop.

When Oswal tried to resist them, the accused took out an iron weapon from his waist and hit Oswal on the left shoulder, asking him to be quiet. The two of them stole 35 grams of gold ornaments worth two lakh 45 thousand rupees and fled from the shop.

However, even after 9 days have passed since this incident took place, the police have not been able to trace the thieves. The complainant Oswal remembers the faces of the thieves. Further, police also examined CCTV cameras of the shop. With the help of the complainant and after examining the CCTV, a sketch of the accused has been drawn. The police have appealed to the citizens to inform the nearest police station if they have any information about the accused.
