Pune: Notorious Criminal Facing Externment & MPDA Action Caught With Country-Made Pistol and 2 Live Rounds
Pune: Crime Branch Unit 3 in Pune has seized a country-made pistol and two live cartridges from a habitual and dangerous criminal.
The accused has been identified as Narendra Mahadev Balkawade (35), a resident of Erandwane near Mehendale Garage.
Narendra has a ten-year criminal history, with cases of molestation, attempted murder, and other serious offenses.
In 2017, he was among 18 notorious criminals externed from Pune during the municipal elections to maintain law and order.
Later, in November 2023, he was detained for a year under the MPDA Act. He also has 3 cases registered at the Kothrud police station.
On November 28, during a routine check near Dandekar Bridge, Unit 3 officers received information that a man carrying a pistol was spotted at Parvati Canal Road.
Police reached the site and found Narendra Balkawade. A search led to the recovery of one pistol and two live cartridges.
He has been handed over to Parvati Police Station for further legal action.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional CP Pankaj Deshmukh, DCP Nikhil Pingale, and ACP Vijay Kumbhar.
