Pune: Now, Vasant More to join Shiv Sena (UBT), may get assembly ticket

Pune: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has said that Vasant More will join the party. More left the MNS before the Lok Sabha elections and fought the polls as an independent with the support of the VBA. However, he was defeated.
Now, he is likely to join Shiv Sena (UBT). He is scheduled to visit Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday (July 4) afternoon. His entry into the party is likely to be announced after the meeting. Raut revealed this to the media on Thursday morning.
According to sources, he could get the party ticket from the Hadapsar or the Khadakwasla assembly constituency. More has preferred Hadapsar and was planning to meet Thackeary at Matoshree. They are going to discuss important issues and More may take a big decision.
Vasant More was keen on contesting the Lok Sabha poll from Pune on the MNS ticket. But the party decided against entering the fray. The MNS conducted a survey, which found that conditions were not favourable for the party in the State. Moreover, a report was sent to the MNS President that a party candidate would not win the election in Pune.
More was determined to contest the LS elections. Hence, he quit the MNS. He tried to get the candidature from the MVA. However, he did not get a response.
Finally, he contested the poll as an independent candidate. But he could not succeed. Now, he is bracing for the State Assembly election.
