As per the police information, Abhay Kharde has an addiction to online gaming. However, in a few of the online games, Kharde lost his money. Therefore, to recover his lost money, he learnt to steal Royal Enfield bikes on YouTube and started stealing them. Police further informed that after stealing the bikes, he and his accomplices were selling them through online platforms.

Over the last five months, he stole 18 motorcycles from parking areas of different apartments in Chakan. After receiving multiple complaints of bike theft from the area, the Chakan police started tracing the accused. For this, they examined nearly 150 CCTV footages across the city. With the help of CCTV footage, police finally reached Sangamner and apprehended the accused.

In the subsequent investigation, the accused confessed to stealing a total of 18 bikes from the Chakan area. He informed that he used to break the lock of the bike and steal it. After that, it was taken to different places and sold. In this, the other two B Tech students helped him to sell these stolen bikes on online platforms.
