Pune: Over 200 encroachments removed in joint action by three ward offices on Nagar Road

Pune: Action against encroachments in the Ahmednagar Road area has been expedited after the Municipal Commissioner’s directive. Three ward offices within zone 1 of the PMC have undertaken a joint action.

Over 200 encroachments were removed in the past three days. Action was taken in Mantri Market and Kharadi Bypass, where 102 illegal handcarts, stalls, counters and huts were demolished till Wednesday afternoon.

As a part of the drive, 30 unauthorised stalls in front of Gera Barkleys in the Kharadi IT Park area were razed. The Building Department and the Anti-Encroachment Department have gone hammer and tongs against Illegal business owners.

Action was taken against 72 illegal handcarts, stalls, hawkers and hutments. The joint action was conducted under the guidance of the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, zone 1, and Junior Engineers Mangesh Gaikwad, Umesh Godge, and Encroachment Inspector Subhash Talekar. Personnel and officials from the A’Nagar Road Ward Office, the Yerwada-Kalas-Dhanori Ward Office and the Dhole Patil Ward Office took part in the joint drive.
