Pune: Pedestrian Dragged 300 Meters by Thieves Resisting Mobile Snatching; All Accused Arrested

In a startling incident, the pedestrian was dragged for about 300 meters by the thieves for resisting them while they were snatching his mobile phone. The pedestrian was heavily injured in this incident.

However, the police have traced and nabbed all the accused after a thorough examination of more than 100 CCTV cameras in the area. In this regard, the police have arrested three individuals.

The names of the arrested individuals are Manthan Trilok Pawar (age 19, a resident of Sarvoday Colony), Rohit Kiran Wani (age 21), and Krishna Sanjay Wani (age 20, both residents of Tadi Gutta Chowk, Dhayarkar Vasti, Mundhwa).

According to the police information, the plaintiff was walking towards Bhagirathi Nagar Society from DP Road. At that time, three thieves on a bike forcibly snatched his mobile phone from his hand. Astonishingly, when the complainant resisted them, the thieves dragged him for 300 meters on the road. In this, the plaintiff sustained serious injuries to his left leg and both knees.

The thief, who was sitting in the back of the vehicle, bit the complainant on the hand and injured him. While investigating the case, the investigating team of Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale, Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kavale, Police Amaldar Kundalik Keskar, and Chandrakant Rejitwad examined more than 100 CCTV footages of the crime scene.

Through this meticulous examination, they identified the accused and started tracing them. Based on their information, the investigation team detained all the accused. The accused then confessed to the crime, and police have seized goods worth Rs 70,000, including the stolen mobile phone and the two-wheeler used for it from the accused.

This action was taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Kudale, Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Kavale, Police Amaldar Sandeep Rathod, Sachin Jadhav, Deepak Kamble, Kundalik Keskar, Chandrakant Rejitwad, Prashant Dudhal, and Nikhil Pawar as per the instructions of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Mandhare, Crime Inspector Nilesh Jagdale, and Amar Kalange under the guidance of Police Commissioner Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and Assistant Police Commissioner Ashwini Rakh.
