Pune: PMRDA demolishes 10 illegal pubs, bars in Mulshi taluka
Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) conducted a drive against unauthorised pubs and bars in Mulshi taluka.
Action was taken against Saiba Bar, Atharva Resto Bar, Sonali Resto Bar, Gypsy Resto Bar in the Pirangut area, and other restaurants and bars in the taluka. Illegal construction on 21,124 sq ft area was demolished in the action on Thursday (July 18).
The authority demolished illegal bars and restaurants in the Bhugaon and Bhukum area on the second consecutive day on Friday. They included six unauthorised establishments such as Drunk in Lake, Sandalwood, Boneyard Bistro, Rajhans Resto Bar, Tee To Bar, Taps and Talks bar, etc. Unauthorised structures on 28,555 sq ft area were demolished with the help of earth-moving machinery such as excavators and big manpower.
The action was taken under the guidance of PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase and Assistant Commissioner Deepak Singla. Deputy Collector Anil Daund, Tehsildar Manisha Telbhate and Bajrang Chowgule, engineer Sunil Powar, other officials and employees and the police were present. Officials from the Anti-Encroachment Department of the PMRDA appealed to citizens to not carry out any unauthorised construction.
