Pune: Police Arrest Three Members of Gaja Marne Gang Based on CCTV Footage in IT Employee Assault Case

Pune : Yesterday, a few individuals brutally assaulted an IT employee over a frivolous reason in Kothrud. In this case, Kothrud police have arrested three individuals based on CCTV footage. It is learnt that these people are members of the Gaja Marne gang.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam said, “Yesterday, a minor argument took place between a few individuals in which three members of the Gaja Marne gang, identified as Amol Vinayak Tapkir, Om Teerthram Dharma Jigyasu, and Kiran Kondiba Padwal, beat up Devendra Jog for hitting a bike on the road. After Jog filed a complaint, police apprehended three accused with the help of CCTV footage.”
As per the detailed information, the complainant, Devendra Jog, works in an IT company. He was at home on Wednesday as it was a holiday. At 4 p.m. Jog went out on his bike. After that, when he was going towards Gujarat Colony from Bhelke Nagar Chowk at around 4:30 p.m., a man wearing a white shirt came to him and confronted him about hitting his bike.
While the plaintiff was talking to the man, shortly after, another man wearing a yellow shirt punched the plaintiff on his face and slapped him, due to which the plaintiff’s nose started bleeding. Further, when the plaintiff fell off the bike, another 3 to 4 people beat him with kicks. While they were beating him, one of them took off his belt and beat him.
After that, the attackers fled towards Gujarat Colony on a bike. Upon receiving information about the crime, Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane, Crime Inspector Vikramsingh Kadam, and Assistant Police Inspector Adagale visited the spot.
Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane said that the criminals involved in this case have been identified and taken into custody after examining the CCTV footage of the incident.
