Pune: Police Constable Arrested by ACB for Demanding ₹5,000 Bribe to Execute Maintenance Warrant
Pune: A police constable posted at Wagholi Police Station, identified as Parmeshwar Pakhre, has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding a ₹5,000 bribe from a woman to execute a maintenance warrant issued by the court.
The woman’s husband failed to pay court-ordered maintenance, after which a fresh warrant was issued. The task was assigned to Constable Pakhale, who allegedly asked for money to process it.
Following a complaint, ACB verified the allegation and later set a trap.
Pakhale was caught accepting ₹5,000 near a tea stall outside Wagholi Police Station on Tuesday morning.
