Pune Police Detained Absconded Minor Caretaker from Bhusaval in Koregaon Park Robbery Case
Pune:
Within 24 hours of a complaint lodged against a minor caretaker for robbing an 80-year-old individual at knife point by tying him with nylon rope, the Koregaon Park Police have detained the minor accused with the help of Bhusaval Railway Police.
Yesterday, the son of the eighty-year-old individual, Ravindra Jagdishprasad Agarwal (age 56, a resident of Ganga Melrose, Sopan Baug), lodged a complaint against the caretaker of his father at Koregaon Park Police Station. Accordingly, police registered a case against a minor caretaker of Jagdishprasad Agarwal.
As per the information, the plaintiff, Ravindra Agarwal, lives in the Sopan Baug area along with his family, and his father, Jagdishprasad Agarwal, lives alone in the Agrasen society in Koregaon Park. A few days ago, Ravindra Agarwal appointed a minor individual, Chintu Chaturvedi, as a caretaker of Jagdishprasad Agarwal.
Chaturvedi would regularly come to Prasad Agarwal’s house in the morning and look after him after completing the domestic work. Similarly, on January 1, Chaturvedi came to Agarwal’s house in the morning. But, at that time, he tied Jagdishprasad Agarwal in the bedroom with a nylon rope and closed his mouth with a handkerchief. He then forcibly took away 32 thousand rupees and a mobile phone worth Rs 2000 from him and absconded from there.
After that, Agarwal somehow managed to remove the handkerchief from his mouth and shouted loudly to call neighbours. Listening to his voice, neighbours rushed to Agarwal’s house and rescued him.
On receiving information about the incident, the Koregaon Park police, based on the technical analysis of the mobile phone used by the accused, found that he was travelling towards Madhya Pradesh by Karnataka Express train. Accordingly, Pune police, with the help of Bhusaval Railway Police, arrested him.
When he was frisked after detention, police found all the cash and mobile phone with him. From his documents, such as the Aadhaar card, PAN card, PM Ayushman card, etc., police found that the accused was a minor.
