Pune: Police need to learn new technology: DGP Rashmi Shukla

Pune: It will be mandatory for the police to use scientific tools in the backdrop of changes in the law. Therefore, it is the need of the hour for investigation officers to inculcate scientific temperament while probing cases, said State DGP Rashmi Shukla.
She was speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Maharashtra Police ‘Kartavya Melawa’. Shukla was given the Guard of Honour by the Police Brass Band. The 25 teams participating in the competitions held a March Past. The Dog Squad of the police gave demonstrations.
Former State DGPs AV Krishnan, Datta Padsalgikar, Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Addl DGP (CID) Prashant Burde, Addl DGP Deepak Pandey, Spl IG Sunil Fulari, Spl IG Ashok Morale, Spl IG Rajendra Dahale, Spl IG Jalindar Supekar and senior officers were present.
The Best Team Performance Trophies were given to the Anti-Terrorist Squad for the Scientific Aid To Investigation, the Kolhapur Range for Police Photography, the SRPF for Police Videography, the Kolhapur Range for Computer Vigilance, the Dog Squad for Anti-Sabotage Check and Mumbai’s Force One got the Late Ashok Kamte Trophy. The overall winner team was Nagpur City, runner-up was Kolhapur Range while the CID Centenary Trophy winner was the Nagpur Team.
