Pune: Police parade notorious Andekar gang members Krishna, Abhishek, and Shivraj Andekar; taken around Nana Peth and Ganesh Peth during house search
Pune: The police conducted a public parade (dhind) of the notorious members of the Bandu Andekar gang in their residential area. To reduce the gang’s influence and fear in the community, the police used the pretext of a house search to take the accused through the locality.
Krishnaraj alias Krishna Andekar, Abhishek Andekar, and Shivraj Andekar have been placed in police custody. Action under MCOCA was initiated against them in connection with the Ayush Komkar murder case, and the investigation has been handed over to Assistant Police Commissioner Anuja Deshmane.
A search of the accused’s homes was crucial for the investigation, and for this purpose, the police paraded them through Nana Peth and Ganesh Peth – areas where they were previously feared. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishikesh Rakhale, ACP Anuja Deshmane, and heavy police force were deployed during the operation. The action was carried out two days ago, after which the trio was sent to judicial custody.
