Pune: Police Raid Illegal Hookah Bar in Viman Nagar; Three Arrested
Pune: Police carried out a major operation against an illegal hookah bar running secretly in the Viman Nagar area. After receiving information that youths from other states were frequenting the hookah lounge located in the MHADA Colony, police conducted a surprise raid on Saturday night.
During the raid, a large quantity of hookah setups, flavored tobacco, narcotic substances, and other materials was seized. Three individuals were arrested, and cases have been registered against them under relevant laws.
Following complaints from local residents, police had been keeping a close watch on the location. Acting at the right moment, the team exposed the illegal hookah business. Police officials stated that a special drive is underway to curb such unlawful activities, and similar actions will continue in the coming days.
The raid has caused panic among operators of illegal hookah parlors in the Viman Nagar area.
