Pune: Police Raided On Gambling Den in Gandharva Lodge; Booked Six People, Including Hotel Owner

In a significant action, the police raided an illegal gambling den in Gandharva Lodge in Shivajinagar and arrested 6 prominent gamblers. In the subsequent search, police seized foreign currencies like pounds and dollars along with 6,37,290 Indian rupees from these accused.
In this regard, the police registered a case against the hotel owner Shetty and operator Sachin Meshram, who provided the room for gambling.
The names of individuals who have been booked by police in this case are Gaurav Sampat Rathod (age 29, a resident of Gangadham Market Yard), Harish Futarmal Solanki (age 54, a resident of Konark Plus, Sopan Baug), Ritesh Jayantilal Oswal (age 34, a resident of Rajlaxmi Society, Market Yard), and Parag Anandrao Mutha (age 41, a resident of Gaganvihar, Market Yard).
Police Amaldar Sachin Chandrakant Jadhav has lodged a complaint in this regard at Shivajinagar Police Station.
According to the information given by the police, Police Sub-Inspector Ajit Bade received a tip-off from his informant that gambling was taking place at Gandharva Lodge in Shivajinagar. Accordingly, on the orders of senior police officers, Senior Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Sawant, Police Sub-Inspector Bade, Constable Chavan, Mohite, Pawar, Police Amaldar Dadas, Sangve, and Tayde raided a room on the first floor of Gandharva Lodge.
At that time, six people were playing cards there. When the police enquired the accused, Gaurav Rathod, about it, he informed that they were all playing a Teen-Patti game called Tirrat for money. Police informed that there were plastic coins of different colours in the room.
When asked about the coins, the accused informed that the green coin was worth Rs 20, the red coin was worth Rs 100, and the black coin was worth Rs 1,000. After frisking all of them, the police seized their mobile phones and gambling paraphernalia worth Rs 6,37,900 from them. Police Sub-Inspector Ajit Bade is conducting further investigation in this regard.
