Pune Police Successfully Found Missing 10-Year-Old Mentally Challenged Girl After All-Night Search
Pune: A 10-year-old mentally challenged girl from Bibvewadi, who went missing on Monday evening, was found safe in the Kondhwa area after a massive all-night search operation by Pune city police. The girl, the daughter of a labourer, had wandered away from home without informing anyone, sparking concerns about a possible kidnapping after she was last seen on CCTV footage at Katraj Chowk.
The Pune Police launched a full-scale search operation after receiving information about the missing child. The girl’s disappearance set off alarms, especially after she was spotted on CCTV footage at Katraj Chowk around the evening. The presence of some suspicious individuals near her in the footage led to fears that she might have been abducted. As a result, the entire Pune city police force was put on high alert.
Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, along with Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, visited the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station late at night to assess the progress of the investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill and other senior officers were also present during the visit. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar issued specific instructions for the search, mobilising around 300 police personnel across the city to locate the missing girl.
The search operation involved the full deployment of the Crime Branch, which scoured various parts of the city throughout the night. After a night-long search, the girl was finally found unharmed at 1:30 a.m. in the Kondhwa area. According to the police, there was no foul play involved; the girl had simply wandered off and was unable to communicate her whereabouts due to her mental condition.
The successful recovery of the girl brought a lot of relief to her family and the police.
