Pune: Probationary IAS officer Dr Puja Khedkar is the talk of the town due to her controversial conduct. She was transferred from the District Collectorate, Pune to Washim. Now, the Pune Police will act against her for violating traffic rules.

As soon as Khedkar joined the District Collector as a probationary IAS officer, she not only displayed the Maharashtra Government plate but also put the amber lamp on her personal car illegally, for which she will be interrogated, said the police. It has been revealed that her personal car had broken traffic rules and penalties amounting to Rs 21,000 have been imposed for the same.

After being selected in the UPSC exams, IAS officers have to spend two years as probationary officers. They have to study how the district administration functions. They are supposed to work in various departments. Only after that they are appointed to the post.

However, Khedkar did not have the patience till her probation period was over. She demanded a car, a bungalow, an office and a peon at her disposal. Her seniors tried to persuade her from insisting on these things. However, she did not budge. Finally, the District Collector sent a report to the senior officials in the Secretariat. She was then transferred to Washim district.
