Pune: Puja Khedkar is missing in action
Pune: Controversial probationary IAS officer Dr Puja Khedkar has been missing for the past some days. Various investigative agencies are trying to trace her.
Khedkar left Washim recently. But her whereabouts are not known. The Delhi Police booked her but she did not report to them. The Pune Police issued summons to her thrice but she did not appear in the Police Commissionerate. It is still not clear if she reported to the training academy in Mussoorie.
Police submit report on parents’ divorce
The Pune Police submitted a report to the Centre over Puja Khedkar’s parents’ marital status. This is likely to compound the family’s problems. Now, the Centre is likely to decide whether to declare her non-creamy layer certificate valid, which she availed to become the IAS officer. She claimed that her parents were divorced.
However, her father Dilip Khedkar filed an affidavit, along with his nomination papers, while contesting the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He mentioned in it that Manorama Khedkar was his wife. The Pune Police sent a report on this to the Centre. Puja and her father are missing.
Though the Pune Police have found out that Puja Khedkar’s parents separated in 2010. Many questions have been raised about their marital status. The police recorded statements of some important persons in this regard. Puja Khedkar could have shown that she belongs to the low-income group.
