Pune: ‘Punit Balan Group’ Extends Helping Hand to Injured Wrestler Vijay Doifode; Announces Financial Assistance of Rs 5 Lakh

Pune: Pune-based young entrepreneur Punit Balan has stepped in to provide crucial support to wrestler Vijay Doifode, who is currently battling for his life after sustaining severe injuries in a road accident. In a commendable act, ‘Punit Balan Group,’ has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for Doifode’s medical treatment and has offered to transfer him to a better-equipped hospital if necessary.

Vijay Doifode, a 22-year-old wrestler, has made a name for himself by winning various state-level competitions and representing Maharashtra at the national level. However, last week, he met with a serious accident near Swargate. Doifode’s two-wheeler struck a pothole and suffered a severe head injury. He was quickly admitted to a nearby private hospital, but he is in a critical condition.

With Doifode’s family facing financial difficulties, his friends and family appealed for help. Responding to it, Punit Balan, a well-known philanthropist and President of ‘Punit Balan Group,’ immediately offered his support. Punit Balan announced Rs 5 lakh towards Doifode’s treatment and also expressed his willingness to ensure that Doifode receives care at a better-equipped hospital if needed.

Over the years, ‘Punit Balan Group’ has become a pillar of support for talented sports persons and players from the State. In the past too, the group has taken on the responsibility of players by adopting them and giving them financial and training assistance to make sure that their talent is not wasted only for lack of money and that they get proper opportunities.

Speaking about the initiative, Punit Balan said, “Wrestler Vijay Doifode has earned various medals for Maharashtra. We have pledged Rs 5 lakh from the ‘Punit Balan Group’ for his treatment. If required, we will also arrange for him to be treated at a better hospital and provide all necessary support beyond this.”
