Pune: Rapist of Minor Girl Sentenced to 22 Years of Jail Punishment by Court
Pune: The court sentenced a young man who repeatedly raped a fourteen-year-old girl, saying he loved her very much, to 22 years of hard labour and a fine of 14 thousand rupees. The court stated that the fine collected from the accused should be given for the rehabilitation of the girl. Further, the order states that the District Legal Services Authority should provide appropriate help to the girls under the Manodhairya Yojana. Special Judge S.B. Rathod has given this verdict.
The accused has been identified as Amol Laxman Waghmare, and he is a resident of Thergaon. Waghmare is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor girl by luring her. In this case, the mother of the victim girl filed a complaint at Thergaon Police Chowki.
As per the information, the plaintiff woman resides in the Thergaon area and does the work of washing people’s clothes and dishes. One time, her nearby resident told her that when she went out of the house for work, the accused, Amol Waghmare, constantly came to her house.
When she inquired about it with her daughter, her daughter told her that Amol constantly raped her by saying he loved her so much. These instances took place between 2019 and February 2020. After that, the mother of the victim, a minor girl, filed a complaint against the accused at Wakad police station. In this case, Assistant Police Inspector Sapna Devtale conducted an investigation.
Public prosecutor Supriya More-Desai presented the victim’s case in court. Senior Police Inspector of Wakad Police Station, Nivrutti Kolhatkar, and Police Inspector (Crime), Ravikumar Nale, acted as officers-in-charge. D. S. Pandule, Court Advocacy Officer, assisted in court proceedings.
