A tragic incident has come to light from Pune, where a tourist who went to visit Rajgad on Republic Day died. The name of the deceased tourist is Anil Vitthal Awate (age 18). The young man died after a stone from the fort fell on his head while descending the fort.

On every holiday and weekend, a lot of trekkers and enthusiasts visited forts surrounding Pune. As per the information, more than 8,000 tourists visited Rajgad on Sunday, January 26. Among those, the deceased Anil Awate also visited Rajgad yesterday with his friends.

Meanwhile, while descending the fort near Pali Darwaza, a stone from the fort fell on his head. Due to which he started bleeding profusely from his ear. After the incident, he was immediately taken to Velhe Rural Hospital for treatment by his friends and colleagues. However, Anil was declared dead at Velhe Rural Hospital.

The deceased Anil Awate was an original resident of Khadgaon Bhabat, Taluka Selu, District Parbhani, and he was currently residing with his paternal uncle in Dhayari. Awate was preparing for police recruitment training in private classes in Dhayari. Since it was Republic Day, Anil had visited Rajgad Fort along with other colleagues from the same training institute. At that time, he died after a stone fell on his head.

Velhe Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
