Pune: Sahakar Nagar Police Arrest Nine Accused in Connection with Machete Attack on Two Individuals in Dhankawadi

Pune: On Sunday, around 8.30 in the night, a maternal uncle and his nephew attempted to kill two individuals with a machete in Dhankawadi over an earlier dispute between them. In this case, Sahakar Nagar police have arrested nine individuals in the night.

In this violent machete attack, Sameer Ananta Khopte (age 31, a resident of Katraj) and Sameer Kamble (age 30) were severely injured. In this regard, Sameer Khopte lodged a police complaint at Sahakar Nagar police station. Accordingly, police have arrested 9 to 10 individuals in the attempted murder case.

This incident took place at the Chinese Centre near the Kalubai Temple and Panchavati Society Gate around 8.30 p.m. According to the police information, the plaintiff and the accused had earlier disputes between them. Harbouring that anger, the accused attacked the plaintiff on Sunday, when he was talking with his friends, Sameer Kamble, Mahadev Shivsharane, and others in Dhankawadi.

As per the complaint, the accused and his 9 to 10 accomplices came on the bike at Dhankawadi and started beating the accused with hands and legs. They also assaulted the plaintiff with a machete and attempted to kill him. In this incident, two individuals were injured heavily and are receiving treatment at the hospital.

After the incident, Sahakar Nagar police promptly arrested nine individuals, and Police Inspector Sagar Patil is conducting further investigation into the case.
