Pune: Sassoon Hospital continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons, as it appears the administration has yet to learn from past errors. In a recent and troubling development, it has been revealed that eight days have passed since an abandoned patient case emerged at Sassoon Hospital, yet no action has been taken against those responsible.

Surprisingly, the dean of the Sassoon Hospital, Eknath Pawar, had formed a three-tier committee to investigate the matter. However, its report has not been made public yet. In this case, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi activist Ritesh Gaikwad and social activist Dadasaheb Gaikwad made numerous attempts to meet Eknath Pawar but were unsuccessful.

The hospital administration’s failure to address this serious issue promptly has raised significant concerns about accountability and responsiveness, drawing sharp criticism from the public and media alike.
In this case, it has been alleged that Eknath Pawar is shielding Orthopaedics Department Head and Medical Superintendent Yallappa Jadhav. After 8 days since the case came to light, Yallappa Jadhav has still not faced any action. Kasba MLA Ravindra Dhangekar had ordered the suspension of the doctor in his meeting with the dean of the hospital, but still, the hospital has not taken any action against Jadhav.

Meanwhile, other doctors at Sassoon Hospital also became aggressive after the action against Dr. Aadi Kumar. Doctors saying that heads of the Orthopaedics Department, Social Services Department, and Medical Superintendent bear responsibility for the incident and the action against Dr. Adi Kumar is totally wrong.

Therefore, people are demanding an impartial investigation in this case. For this, Ritesh Gaikwad and Dadasaheb Gaikwad have written a letter and demanded strong action against the accused following a thorough investigation into the matter.
