Pune: Senior Health Inspector Demanded Physical Pleasure from Woman; Sinhagad Police Investigate Charges

A shocking incident has come to light from the Pune Municipal Corporation’s zonal office in the Sinhagad road area, where a senior health inspector has molested a government official woman by asking her to come in his cabin. In this case, a complaint has been registered against the concerned officer at Sinhagad Road police station as per Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The name of the senior health inspector against whom the complaint has been registered is identified as Chandrakant Ganpat Lad (age 55 years, a resident of Karve Nagar, Pune).

As per the police information, on September 30, the plaintiff woman was working in the office. At that time, Chandrakant Lad went towards the woman and asked her to come in his cabin. When the plaintiff woman refused him, the accused said, “I give concession to you at work. Further, I also approve your leaves whenever you ask. Therefore, you should listen to me.” By saying this, he forced her to come in his cabin.

Meanwhile, the frightened woman informed this matter to her senior officers. Accordingly, a case has been registered against Senior Health Inspector Chandrakant Lad at Sinhagad Road Police Station based on the woman’s complaint. In this case, Sub-Inspector of Police Suresh Jaybhay is conducting further investigation under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Raghavendra Kshirsagar.

After this incident, anger is being expressed against this official from the city.

It is learnt that the concerned complainant lady has been working as a permanent worker in Sinhagad Road Zonal Office for the last one and a half years. The complaint said that Senior Health Inspector Chandrakant Lad had also abused her multiple times earlier and demanded physical pleasure from her. Also, there are multiple complaints of misbehaviour registered against the accused in the past as well. In this case, the plaintiff woman has also filed a complaint with the State Women’s Commission.
