Pune: Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) Youth Wing President Nilesh Ghare Arrested for Orchestrating Firing to Obtain Police Protection

Pune : Nilesh Ghare, the district president of the youth wing of Shiv Sena’s Shinde faction, has been arrested by the Warje Police for staging a firing incident on his own vehicle in an attempt to secure police protection and a firearms license.
The investigation revealed that the firing incident, which took place on May 19 around 11:30 PM outside Ghare’s public relations office in Ganpati Matha, Warje, was orchestrated by Ghare himself. According to his earlier complaint, two individuals on a motorcycle opened fire at his car, striking the windshield. Ghare had claimed that a local gangster had threatened him over the phone prior to the incident, suggesting it was a targeted attack.
However, under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Vishvajeet Kaingade, Warje Police reviewed footage from over 150-200 CCTV cameras in the area. Based on inputs received by PSI Sanjay Narale, it was found that Ajay alias ‘Bagli’ Ravindra Sapkal (25, Ramnagar, Warje), Shubham Sampat Khemnar (27), and Sachin Anil Gole (27) all from Warje Malwadi had carried out the shooting.
The police arrested all three, and during interrogation, the name of Sanket Mataley from Kolhewadi also emerged. He too was taken into custody. All four are reportedly acquaintances of Nilesh Ghare. Upon further questioning, it was revealed that the entire act was planned and executed under Ghare’s instructions.
The incident has drawn attention especially because Nilesh Ghare is a close associate of Nilesh Girme, another Shinde faction leader whose office on Sinhagad Road was attacked last year. Following that incident, police protection was granted to Girme. The connection between these two incidents became a topic of discussion among party members and supporters.
Ghare’s arrest has come as a shock to his close aides and supporters within the party.
