Pune: Aspirants queue up at Sharad Pawar’s office, most applicants want to contest against Bhujbal, Munde

Pune: The State Assembly elections are likely to be held after the Diwali festival. The two major alliances have started preparing for the elections. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is holding discussions with likely candidates. The alliance is trying to match its success in the Lok Sabha elections in the upcoming State Assembly polls too.

DyCM Ajit Pawar’s problems have been compounded. Many from his camp are crossing over to the rival NCP camp. Aspirants are crowding Sharad Pawar’s office to seek the NCP (SP) ticket. Heaps of applications are lying on his table given by aspirants who want to contest against state ministers. If formidable candidates are fielded against ministers, the NCP (AP) may have a tough time to save its seats.
