Pune: Squadron Leader Vijaykumar Dnyaneshwar Zende dies of dengue

Pune: Squadron Leader, Indian Air Force (IAF), Vijaykumar Dnyaneshwar Zende (36), a resident of Dive, taluka Purandar, currently posted in Nagaland, died due to dengue.
His last rites were performed at his native village, Dive, with state honour. The IAF officer contracted dengue while he was on leave at his native place.
Senior officers from the IAF and the Indian Army and jawans were present. A Guard of Honour was given to the departed officer. Former gazetted officer Sambhajirao Zende, SDO, Purandar, Varsha Landge, Tehsildar Vikram Rajput, PSI Hrishikesh Adhikari, Someshwar Sahakari Co-operative Sugar Mill Vice-Chairman Balasaheb Kamthe, Rahul Shewale, Dilip Walhekar, Purandar Taluka Journalists Association President Yogesh Kamthe and members of the Ex-Servicemen’s Association paid tributes to the officer. Thousands of people were present.
Squadron Leader Vijaykumar Zende had participated in the Indo-Russia joint war exercise. He had undertaken an important task of transporting oxygen from Indonesia during the Corona pandemic.
He is survived by parents, wife, brother, sister and uncle. His father Dnyaneshwar Zende has retired as the SDPO from the Police Force.
