Pune: State Minister Chandrakant Patil assures to help in building leisure centre for senior artists

All Artists Foundation, Maharashtra’s get-together held

Pune: State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil has assured senior artists that he will extend all-possible help to set up a Virangula Kendra (leisure centre) for them if the All Artists Foundation Maharashtra suggests a place.

Patil made it clear that he would soon hold a meeting with State Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar to sort out issues faced by senior artists. He was speaking at a get-together organised by the foundation in Pune.

BJP State Spokesman Sandeep Khardekar, All Artists Foundation Maharashtra’s Founder-President Yogesh Supekar, Melody Maker’s Ashokkumar Saraf, senior artistes Sunil Godbole, Rajani Bhat, Jaymala Inamdar, compere Sandeep Patil, Subodh Chandwadkar, Iqbal Darbar, all office-bearers and members were present in a large number.

Patil said, “The demand for a leisure centre for senior artists is justified. If you suggest a place, I will try to get it and help in setting up the centre. This will help senior artists to carry out their initiatives.”

He assured that their issues conveyed to him through petitions would be addressed by holding a meeting with State Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar soon.

Foundation Founder-President Yogesh Supekar thanked the Maha Yuti government for granting a big hike in their pension. BJP State Spokesman Sandeep Khardekar and Laxmikant Khabiya also spoke.

Chandrakant Patil distributed insurance cards to senior artists, letters of appointment to the members of executive council. Yogesh Supekar gave the introductory speech. Sandip Patil conducted the programme.
