Pune: Swargate ST stand rape case accused watched porn films 22,000 times, reveals investigation

Pune: Dattatraya Gade, the accused in the Swargate ST stand rape case, watched porn films around 22,000 times in the past one year. Cyber experts examined his google search history.
Gade sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman in the wee hours of February 25. A case has been registered in the Swargate Police Station and an 893-page charge sheet has been filed in the Shivajinagar Court.
Gade has submitted a bail application before the court. The police opposed his bail plea and submitted an application on Friday (May 2) giving reasons why his bail petition should be rejected.
An offence has been registered against Gade under section 64 (punishment for rape), section 64 (2)(M) repeated rape, 351 (2) (threatening), 115 (2) (intentionally causing injury) and 127 (2) (confinement) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The incident was condemned at social, political levels and citizens expressed outrage across the State.
Realising the seriousness of the matter, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar transferred the case to the Crime Branch. Gade was hiding in his village in Shirur taluka. The police arrested Gade with the help of villagers, drone cameras and a sniffer dog.
