Pune: Thief Entered the House, Attempted to Kill Old Woman by Smothering Her in Ganesh Peth Area

Pune: In a shocking incident, a thief has attempted to kill the old woman by smothering a pillow on her face. In this regard, the Faraskhana Police arrested the thief, Vikram Jogi Vishwakarma (age 30, a resident of Nepal). He confronted the police, saying that he did so with the intention of theft.

In this regard, an old woman registered a police complaint at Faraskhana Police Station. As per the information, the plaintiff lives alone in the Ganesh Peth area of Pune. She has a married daughter, who lives with her family in the Ambegaon Pathar area of Dhankawadi.

On Monday night, the accused Vishwakarma arrived near the house of the old woman. The woman had left the door open as the door was damaged due to rain. Seeing that there was no one inside the house, Vishwakarma entered the house with the intention of theft. At that time, the woman was sleeping on the bed.

Seeing the woman, Vishwakarma swiftly went there and attempted to kill her by smothering a pillow on her face. After that, the woman cried for help loudly. Immediately, her neighbours informed the police and detained the accused.

The police informed that Vishwakarma is a wanderer and is currently staying in Sadashiv Peth. Police Sub-Inspector Amol Kale is investigating further into the case.
