Pune: Thieves Steal Rs 14.72 Lakh Worth of Jewellery Hidden Under Bedroom Tiles of Kuwaiti Resident’s Bungalow in Loni Kalbhor

In a shocking incident, a thief entered the bungalow of an individual and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 14.72 lakh by digging the tile of the bedroom under which gold ornaments were kept safe.
In this regard, Stephen Victor Valerayan Lasrado (age 51, resident of Railway Colas Vasti Road, Tarad) has filed a complaint at Loni Kalbhor Police Station. This incident took place between January 29 and February 1.
As per the police information, the plaintiff originally hails from Bengaluru, Karnataka, and he currently works in Kuwait. A few years ago, he built one bungalow near Loni Kalbhor. He often comes to stay here after coming back from Kuwait. While coming from Kuwait, he often brings as much gold and gold ornaments as possible in India as per the rules.
As the plaintiff does not reside here all the time, he had cleverly kept his gold ornaments in a steel box in a safe dug under the tile of the bed in the master bedroom for the safety of the gold. However, when he went out of the house, someone secretly entered his house by breaking the door. The accused then straightaway went inside the master bedroom of the plaintiff, where gold ornaments were kept.
The accused then removed the tiles under which gold ornaments were kept and fled away with those gold ornaments. As per the complaint, he has stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 14 lakh 72 thousand. However, looking at the precision of the theft, the police suspected that this theft had been done by someone who was acquainted with the plaintiff. Police Sub-Inspector Anil Jadhav is conducting further investigation into the case.
