Pune: Thieves Target Two Homes in Sadashiv Peth Area; Make Off with Gold Worth Over Rs 18 Lakh

Pune: Thieves struck twice in the same society in the Sadashiv Peth area, making off with gold jewelry worth a total of Rs 18.12 lakh from two houses. The incidents occurred in the Raghuveer Society located in the Natu Baug area, leading to a complaint being filed by Deepak Dnyanendra Shaha (43) at the Khadak police station.

According to the complaint, unknown thieves took advantage of an open door at Shaha’s house to steal gold jewelry and cash valued at Rs 17.60 lakh. In a similar incident on the same day, the thieves targeted another resident in the same society, Jayant Balasaheb Kulkarni, and stole gold jewelry worth Rs 27,950.

In a separate incident, a house in Kothrud was burgled, with thieves making off with gold jewelry worth Rs 1.02 lakh. The burglary occurred while the homeowners, the Dalvi family, were away for work on August 18. The incident took place in Bhujbal Ali, where the thieves broke the lock to gain entry. A complaint was lodged by Hitesh Prabhakar Dalvi at the Kothrud Police Station.

Assistant Police Inspector Sanap is leading the investigation into the Kothrud theft.
