Pune: Three candidates with same name in Parvati Assembly segment
Pune: The ‘Raigad Pattern’ is being talked about in the Parvati Assembly segment. There are three namesake candidates in the segment.
The list of the candidates from the seat has three same names. This is likely to confuse voters.
The Election Officer received 22 nominations, out of which 20 have been found valid. This has been revealed by the Election Officer of the Parvati segment. The received nominations were scrutinsed on October 30. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on November 4.
There is a direct fight between the Maha Yuti and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the State elections. Ashwini Kadam, the MVA candidate, has three other namesakes in the list of candidates. This likely to confuse voters and may cause division of votes.
A similar phenomenon was witnessed in the Lok Sabha constituency in Raigad. Many candidates resembling NCP (AP) candidate Anil Tatkare’s name filed nominations. However, the NCP (AP) candidate won the poll.
