Pune: Three held in Anti-Narcotics Squad raid in Tingre Nagar, drugs worth Rs 1 crore seized
Pune: Drug hauls have become common in the city. The Crime Branch has seized narcotics worth Rs 1 crore in Lohegaon. Three persons have been arrested.
The arrested accused have been identified as Srinivas Santosh Godje (21), a resident of Dhanori, Rohit Shantaram Bende (29), a resident of Lohegaon and Nimish Subhas Abnave (27), a resident of Tingre Nagar.
Policeman Sandip Damodar Shirke lodged a complaint at the Vishrantwadi Police Station in this regard. According to the police, the Anti-Narcotics Squad got a tip-off that three persons had come to the Vighnaharta Apartments in Tingre Nagar. They could be carrying narcotics.
The police went to the spot and saw three persons standing at the roadside. The squad members frisked them and seized 471-gm Mephedrone, four mobile phones, a two-wheeler, a car and two electronic weighing machines. The seized valuables amounted to over Rs 1.08 crore.
The operation was performed under the guidance of Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar, Joint CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Addl CP Shailesh Balkawade, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Satish Govekar. PI Ulhas Kadam is investigating the case.
