Pune: Traffic diversions during Dahi-Handi celebrations in Pune
Pune: Traffic on main roads in the city will be diverted through other routes on Tuesday (August 27) evening due to the Dahi-Handi festival.
Traffic from Chhatrapati Shivaji Road, Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road and Tilak Raod will be diverted through other roads.
Huge crowds gather to witness breaking of Dahi-Handi in the heart of city areas such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Road, Mahatma Phule Mandai, Hutatma Babu Genu Chowk, Appa Balwant Chowk, Sahitya Parishad on Tilak Road and Navi Peth. There will be changes in traffic plans in these areas after 5 pm on Tuesday. Chhatrapati Shivaji Road, Tilak Road and Laxmi Road will be closed for traffic in the evening. This was revealed by DCP (Traffic) Amol Zende.
Commuters heading towards Swargate via Chhatrapati Shivaji Road should use Jangli Maharaj Road from SG Barve Chowk towards Khandoji Baba Chowk and reach desired destinations. Commuters headed towards Shivajinagar via Bajirao Road from Puram Chowk should use Tilak Road to reach their destinations. Those going towards the PMC Building from SG Barve Chowk should use JM Road and reach their destination via Jhashi Rani Chowk. Traffic from Budhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk will be one-way traffic. There will be ‘no entry’ for vehicles going from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. They can use Bajirao Road to reach their destinations.

*Sonya Maruti Chowk on Laxmi Road to Seva Sadan Chowk
*Lal Mahal Chowk on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Gotiram Bhaiya Chowk in Mandai
*From Daruwala Pul Chowk to Ganesh Road at Lal Mahal Chowk
