Pune: Traffic Violation Turns Violent: Woman on Two-Wheeler Attacked and Molested by Car Driver
Pune: In a shocking incident, a woman on a two-wheeler was assaulted for questioning the car driver for driving a car in violation of traffic rules. Furthermore, the accused car driver also molested the woman by misbehaving with her. In this case, a complaint was lodged against a married couple at Chaturshringi police station.
This incident took place on Saturday around 1.30 p.m. at the Mahabaleshwar Hotel Chowk on Pashan-Link Road. As per the police complaint lodged by the victim woman, the accused, Swapnil Ashok Kekare, was speedily driving the car, violating the traffic rules. When the plaintiff woman questioned the accused about it, the enraged car driver got out of the car and misbehaved with her.
The accused held the raincoat of the plaintiff and threatened her. He also injured her by punching her neck. When the plaintiff woman took out the keys of the accused’s car, the wife of Swapnil Kekare, Shriya Kekare, injured the complainant by assaulting her with her hands.
In this case, Chaturshringi police registered a complaint against Swpanil and his wife Shriya Kekare under Sections 118(1), 74, 115, 352, 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 119/177, 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation into the case is underway.
