Pune: Tug of war between NCP (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) over Hadapsar and Kothrud seats
Pune: The NCP (SP) is upset as the Shiv Sena (UBT) has staked its claim on the Hadapsar and Kothrud Assembly segments.
The Shiv Sena (UBT) has staked its claim on the Hadapsar seat. Former MLA Mahadev Babar and Vasant More are two main aspirants from this segment. The Shiv Sena (UBT) may not get seats in the district given the circumstances. Therefore, Uddhav Thackeray is insisting on the Kothrud and Hadapsar constituencies.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is clear about giving Kothrud to the Shiv Sena (UBT). Since the NCP MLA was elected last time from Hadapsar, the NCP (SP) will retain the seat.
Prashant Jagtap is an aspirant from the NCP (SP) in Hadapsar. Sitting MLA Chetan Tupe belongs to the NCP (AP). Therefore, there would be a direct fight between the two NCP factions.
However, a tug of war is underway between the two MVA alliance partners over Hadapsar and Kothrud.
