Pune: Two country-made pistols, live cartridge seized from hardened criminal Sajan Shah and Kunal Puri
Pune: A criminal and his accomplice coming from Ambaidara were nabbed and two country-made pistols and a live cartridge were seized from their possession. Sajan Vinod Shah (19) and Kunal Shivaji Puri (18), both residents of Dhayari, have been arrested.
A squad of the Nanded City Police Station was on patrol when policemen Purushottam Gunla and Yogesh Zende got a tip-off that Shah and Puri were carrying two country-made pistols and they were coming from Ambaidara.
The police set a trap at Ambaidara and nabbed them. Two pistols and a live cartridge worth Rs 70,500 were recovered from them. Sajan Shah is a history-sheeter and offences such as attempt to murder, dacoity and fights have been registered against him.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Addl CP Pravinkumar Patil, DCP Sambhaji Kadam and ACP Ajay Parmar. Sr PI Atul Bhos, PSI Shivaji Bunage, policemen Purshottam Gunla, Yogesh Zende, Raju Vegare, Akshay Jadhav and Prashant Kakade took part in it.
